Min Jiang Dempsey

Contemporary Sichuan and Cantonese fare where specialities include Beijing Duck and dim sum

Nestled in a greenery-filled enclave in Dempsey, the second outlet of Goodwood Park Hotel’s renowned Chinese restaurant stuns with a contemporary chinoiserie interior dominated by wood and rattan. Despite its secluded location, the place can be bustling, even on a weekday lunch. Its menu reflects the kitchen’s efforts to go beyond the typical lineup of roast duck and stir-fried dishes to offer innovative creations: think crispy eel strips in vinegar, prawns stuffed with prawn paste, Alaskan crab leg with egg floss, pork ribs in hawthorn sauce, and stewed lobster with deep fried glutinous rice. Also popular is the dim sum lineup, featuring adorable dumplings shaped like stingrays, squid, goldfish, pumpkins and pears. The heavy hitters, however, are the carbs, especially the Ibérico pork fried rice and braised mee pok. A respectable range of teas and cocktails completes the dining experience.

Tatler Tip

With four private rooms and a stunning interior, the restaurant is popular for business lunches and weddings.
