Magistracy Dining Room

In the grand halls of Tai Kwun’s former Central Magistracy, chef Alyn Williams delivers one of Hong Kong’s most polished expressions of modern British cooking.
Few dining rooms in Hong Kong possess the drama of Magistracy Dining Room. Set within the restored Central Magistracy building at Tai Kwun, the soaring ceilings, polished wood and red leather banquettes evoke the timeless elegance of London’s great dining rooms. It is an appropriately theatrical stage for chef Alyn Williams’ cooking, which draws deeply from British culinary tradition while presenting it with contemporary finesse. Williams’ menu continues to evolve with the seasons, leaning into the clarity and comfort of British ingredients. Freshly poached lobster paired with avocado and cucumber brings brightness, while heartier options such as three yellow chicken pie or the classic aged roast rib of beef offer a playful nod to the chef’s heritage. Desserts remain joyfully nostalgic with treacle tart or baked Alaska, brimming with retro charm.
