After a surprising renovation that updated this hole-in-the-wall at the San Antonio arcade, La Nuova Pasteleria remains as one of the best and most consistent Italian-style cafés in the capital. Favourites like the pasta al tartufo remain deliciously the same, while the capellini with Italian sausage, is a surprising but comforting discovery. The calamari is reminiscent of an excellent country club classic, served with a tart marinara sauce. Their secondi offering has recently been updated to include a very good rendition of veal in marsala sauce.
