La Maison 1888

A masterpiece of French fusion cuisine, where Bill Bensley’s ancient architecture blends with the culinary essence of talented chefs
One of the standout features of La Maison 1888 is its remarkable location. Nestled in the lush greenery of the Son Tra Peninsula’s primeval forest, the restaurant rises majestically into its surroundings like an ancient villa from distant France. Situated on the Earth floor of the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, it boasts a truly enviable position, with close proximity to the beach offering panoramic views.
Designed by renowned architect Bill Bensley—one of the top five architects behind historic French villas, often referred to as the “king of resorts”—La Maison 1888 is inspired by a real French estate. The design evokes the classic French style of 1888, offering diners a fictional narrative that transports them into the world of an aristocratic family from that era.
What truly sets La Maison 1888 apart is not only its luxurious architecture but also its bold French flavours. The restaurant has the rare distinction of collaborating with three Michelin 3-star chefs: Michel Roux and Pierre Gagnaire, and Chirstian Le Squer, all world-renowned figures in the culinary world. La Maison 1888 is a coveted destination for those who wish to master the art of fusion cuisine—a distinctive style that harmoniously combines diverse culinary traditions.
The restaurant’s menu evolves seasonally, ensuring that each visit offers new flavours and the opportunity to indulge in the freshest, most typical local ingredients. As the current consultant chef of La Maison 1888, Chirstian Le Squer fuses classical French techniques with modern creativity. He is described as a perfumer or a couturier, in that he fashions flavours that sing new sensations, piecing together signature dishes that combine tastes, textures, colours with fresh seasonal ingredients.
In addition, La Maison 1888 is renowned for its exclusive “1-0-2” wine cellar, home to some of the world’s finest wines, carefully curated for connoisseurs. The collection includes prestigious names such as Côte-Rotie, La Coulee de Serrant, Meursault Coche Dury, and Henry Jayer—to name but a few.
