Having made his name at The Diplomat, John Nugent’s newest venue is a world apart from the rowdy cheer of that bar. It’s small but utterly sophisticated, evoking a Mad Men-esque fixation on the martini and its rarefied components. The interior is both stunning and artful: a tessellated mirror backdrop to the bar contends with flowing lines in the banquettes and woodwork. The K&B Martini is the highlight, precisely pre-batched and poured tableside, while the rest of the menu spins off gin, vermouth and ice into complex cocktails that lean savoury and utilise surprising flavour combinations.
