The first celebrity chef restaurant has opened at the Sky Park in SM Aura.
The chef Todd English, the restaurateur and TV personality, has expanded his business of gastronomy out of the United States to the Sky Park in SM Aura. With the collaboration of local partner Rikki Dee, whose dining concepts Mesa and Kai have ranked among the Philippines’ Best Restaurants, the Todd English Food Hall opened to the public on March 25.
With the clean, marbled look of the European-inspired venue, it is evident the local architect Ivy Almario did a skillfull job of replicating the layout of English’s eponymous restaurant in The Plaza Hotel in New York. The Food Hall in SM Aura measures 900 metres with nine live stations for pasta, bread, pizza, grilled items, raw delicacies, salads, cold cuts, sushi, and dessert. Diners can order any of the items a la carte and experience an enjoyable casual dining experience from the renowned chef’s menu.
Have the veal Agnolotti and pumpkin ravioli, which are among the choices for hefty servings of freshly made thick pastas. The Grill makes a nicely textured and flavourful seared tuna loin that comes highly recommended, as do the classic burger sliders, which are sous vide before hitting the iron.
The Food Hall offers a comfort American menu, and the Asian station doesn’t lack in noodles, rice, and dumplings. The sushi bar is also available for more oriental cravings. Diners with a sweet tooth will be pleased with the selection of homemade ice cream, cakes, and cupcakes.
The Food Hall is the only restaurant of the chef in Asia. It also boasts of impressive wine and cocktail list, plus an award-winning master mixologist that will stay in-house.
