This much-awaited culinary exploration is back, and gourmands looking for uniquely gastronomic moments can look forward to stop in Kyoto, Tokyo and Guangzhou

Pack your bags and get ready to eat your way across Asia because the much-awaited Stellar Dining Series by The Ritz-Carlton—which boasts some of the most unforgettable Michelin-starred dining experiences—returns in September and October for its second edition.

After a highly successful inaugural event last year that offered curious gourmands a meal of a lifetime in celebrated food cities like Singapore, Hong Kong and Osaka, the hotel is bringing a star-studded line up of seven chefs with nine Michelin stars under their belt, including, for the first time, awarded Basque chef Erlantz Gorostiza from The Ritz-Carlton in Abama, Spain, and Chinese chef Jackie Ho from The Ritz-Carlton, Macau.

If you’re ready to be blown away, the journey begins at The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo with an enticing six-hands dinner by chefs Shintaro Miyazaki (The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo), Christophe Gilbert (The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto) and Erlantz Gorostiza (The Ritz-Carlton, Abama) that's available for a limited period from September 11 to 15.

Hailing from the Basque Country—home to some of the world's best in gastronomy—Gorostiza will add his signature Basque flair to Miyazaki and Gilbert’s inspired Japanese-French fare, in an eight-course menu at Azure 45; this exciting experience is elevated by chief sommelier Amari Tamaru’s unique wine pairings.

Speaking of serving quality tipples, cocktail connoisseur Oscar Mena and 2018 Chivas Masters winner Kentaro Wada will collaborate yet again to showcase their award-winning creations at the bar, complete with live music.

Take note that there are also other events happening across different restaurants—from a champagne brunch to a specially crafted afternoon tea and a cheese masterclass.

Chasing Michelin stars will lead you next to The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto. From September 18 to 19, diners can look forward to a tempura dinner by chef Kenji Fujimoto of Tempura Mizuki that will take them on a gastronomic journey through Japan’s summer and autumn seasons, with highlights like wagyu beef with matsutake mushrooms coated in a light but crisp batter and deep-fried to golden brown perfection.

Gorostiza will be gracing the event as well, cooking alongside chef Shuichi Inoue at La Locanda, for a showcase of the very best of Basque and Italian cooking. And as if these two events aren’t indulgent enough, guests can choose to join a cocktail masterclass with Oscar Mena and Asano Yosuke, where they can learn more about the tips and tricks of a world-class bartender, and maybe even make time for the 2000 Feuilles Pastry Masterclass.

The latter is a first for the Stellar Dining Series, and a not-to-be-missed experience for pastry fans, as they'll get to see first-hand how talented Pierre Hermé Paris pâtissier Regis Demanet makes delicate pastries, the kind that merges creativity and technique, in a captivating two-hour live demonstration.

The tour’s final stop is at The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou (from October 9 to 13) and, naturally, China’s vibrant Cantonese cuisine is the highlight of the five-day series. And who better to bring these to life than veteran chefs Paul Lau (Hong Kong), Jackie Ho (Macau) and resident chef Gordon Guo of Lai Heen.

Each will prepare their signature dishes in a delightful six-course menu showcasing what we love most about the cuisine—and instead of the usual tea pairing, it’s made more intriguing with a pairing of premier Château Margaux pours.

With so many exciting culinary programmes to look forward to this year, the best thing you can do now is to start booking your flights and planning your unforgettable culinary journey with The Ritz-Carlton. Bon voyage and bon appetit.
