In its annual ”Good To Dine” campaign, the LJC group continues to raise funds from its featured dishes to help cancer patients of the Philippine General Hospital (PGH).
LJC Group invites diners to visit any LJC restaurant from September 17 to December 31 and take part in its annual food campaign for the benefit of cancer patients in PGH. For every order of any of the seven featured dishes, the campaign donates 10 pesos to the Andres Soriano Foundation, Inc. that has been providing free treatment to the PGH cancer patients.
Seven dishes and a drink have been selected for this worthy cause. Abé offers the popular fiesta dish Manyamang Beef Asado, which is made with U.S. Top Blade, and stewed with potatoes and mushrooms. Café Adriatico offers Nacho salad, complete with crisp nachos, jalapeño, minced beef, olives, tomatoes, and grated cheese. Bistro Remedios offers Lechon Kawali sa Gata, which is fried pork belly simmered in savoury coconut cream. Diners may get also a taste of Sinuteng Baby Squid in Abe’s Farm. Lorenzo’s Way offers Seafood en Casuela, which is sole fillet, clams, shrimps, quail eggs, and asparagus in a creamy sauce. Fely J’s Kitchen’s featured dish is Sedap Pompano, fried with unique spiced sauce and sautéed with onions and curry leaves, while Larry’s Café and Bar’s dish is an indulgent Salmon Hollandaise, served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Café Havana invites diners to take a glass of the Brazilian cocktail, Caiprinha, which is the only drink included in the cause.
For the past four years, LJC Group has been making this campaign for the benefit of the cancer patients—a continuation of the efforts done by its late founder Larry J. Cruz, who had secretly supported disadvantaged students by giving them employment in his restaurants. The campaign applies any day of the week and only to dine-in and take-out transactions.
