Cafe Jeepney hits close to home as it features old-time favourites from the world’s oldest Chinatown—Binondo.

As part of InterContinental brand’s “In the Know” programme, Cafe Jeepney opened the year with its first Insider Gourmet quarterly food promotion offering dishes inspired by old-time Binondo favourites at the centrepiece. The Insider Gourmet aims to connect the hotel’s well-travelled guests to the things that make its location special, sharing local knowledge, and helping guests enjoy authentic experiences to enrich their lives and broaden their outlook.

The quarterly promotion begins with Binondo cuisine to represent the cultural diversity of Manila. Chosen for its uniqueness of having distinctive fusion of Filipino and Chinese flavours, InterContinental Manila will run the Insider Gourmet: Binondo programme from March 12 to 21. Dishes like stuffed squid with garlic butter, sweet and sour fish fillet, stir-fried seafood with XO sauce, Szechuan beef with snow peas and crisp garlic, and braised eggplant with tofu and salted fish, and also Chinoy snacks like Buchi and Siopao are all part of the lunch and dinner buffet spread at Cafe Jeepney, starting from 1650++ pesos.

In the latter part of the year, Insider Gourmet will offer sumptuous cuisines of other towns or provinces around the country. With old-time favourites dressed up for a gourmet setting, diners will see the unique Filipino dishes in a new light.
