Dusit Thani Manila introduces the newest Family Brunch, an epicurean feast of its signature restaurants that will transform your Sundays into a remarkable dining experience.
SPEND your Sundays at one of the most well-attended brunch destinations in town, Dusit Thani Manila's Family Brunch Buffet. From the popular buffet Crossover concept that captured the metro's craze in 2008, the hotel has revamped the trademark offering with better selection and more convenient set-up. Save space in your stomach to savour generous treats from the hotel's signature restaurants - international buffet Basix All-Day Dining, Thai Benjarong Royal Thai, Italian Tosca, and Japanese Umu.
The previous Crossover featured all four restaurants on both the ground floor and mezzanine. The new set-up conveniently placed the buffet stations in two restaurants, Basix and Umu, at the lobby, giving guests easier access to all the selections.
Begin the tour of cuisines with the bountiful choices at Basix. Welcomed by a carnival-themed arch, the Filipino station comes into full view with its insalada (salad) and kinilaw (raw fish with vinegar) dishes followed by a lechon (charcoal-roasted whole pig) carving station. An elegant pile of imported cheeses and premium cold cuts comes next, taking centre stage when partnered with the sparkling wine. Don't miss the live paella station and pasta spots graced by dedicated chefs who cook and serve desired plates the way you want it. The famed buffet restaurant also features the sumptuous Italian offerings of Tosca.
On the other end of the hall, a haven of meat cuts invites you to be a pure carnivore with the following: sausages, honey bone ham, US prime rib, and other pork-or beef-based viands. For seafood lovers, a small but rich part of the buffet highlights fresh and juicy water finds, such as smoked salmon, oysters, mussels, and shrimps, presented with select greens, pâtés, and sauces as suggested sidings. An Indian station is also a must-try, boasting various tandooris with flavourful condiments.
Food enthusiasts should never leave the walls of the hotel without trying the breads and pastries. Near the counter of bakes is a dessert corner with a towering chocolate fountain, featuring decadent sweets and irresistible morsels; but amongst all the items laid out, the chocolate lava cake is the blockbuster with the hot and cold blending of the freshly baked cake topped with vanilla ice cream.
For Asian selections, Umu showcases the colourful dishes that represent the scrumptious signature dishes of its restaurant and Benjarong Royal Thai. Palatable Japanese staples range from Umu's famous Philippine Maki to the freshest tuna and salmon sashimi, kani salad, and miso soup. A teppanyaki station, lined up together with tempura and sukiyaki posts, is also filled with gracious delights. Choose from varied grill options - salmon belly, lapu-lapu, shrimp, beef, and assorted vegetables - with either steak or ponzu sauce.
Benjarong Royal Thai, on the other hand, has a delicious and well-chosen spread of Phad Thai, Gai Satay, and Tom Yum Gung. Thai salads and desserts are available, too.
Parents will love the children's play area where the little ones can spend the day with the entertaining mime and other interactive toys provided at the lobby. Street food-style carts, giving out cotton candies, ice cream, and milk shakes, adhere to the overall festive theme of the brunch. While dining, a roving folk band serenades the guests with songs.
Dusit Thani Manila provides twice the pleasure of the Crossover experience with an improved mix of good food and family-oriented aura.
