Leading the pack is Chivas Regal 12 Year Old, bagging the Gold Award at the International Wine and Spirit Competition.
2015 has been another good year for the Chivas Brothers’ portfolio of blended Scotch whiskies as it earned numerous accolades at different competitions worldwide. These contests include the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) and the International Spirits Challenge (ISC).
At the IWSC, the Chivas Regal 12 Year Old (Y.O.) takes the Gold whilst both the Chivas Regal 18 Y.O. and 25 Y.O. receive the Gold Outstanding merits at the IWSC. Similarly at the Scotch Whisky Masters Competition, the gold medal is given to Chivas Regal 12 Y.O. whilst the silver medal is awarded to the Chivas Regal 18 Y.O. Finally, at the ISC, Chivas Regal 25 Y.O. takes the gold medal whilst the 12 and 18 Y.O. take silver.
The international award-giving bodies evaluated each spirit through a process of blind tasting, and testing them on their aroma, appearance, taste, and finish. The panel comprises of the industry’s leading whisky experts.
In line with the recent achievements of the brand, Chivas Brothers International Brand Ambassador Darren Hosie held a scotch and whisky tasting and mentoring session at The InterContinental Manila, where the award-winning variants are put under the spotlight. Foods such as hazelnuts, dark chocolate, and marzipan were paired with the expressions
