House of Culture

An intimate dining room where curiosity in the kitchen turns into dishes that surprise and linger

House of Culture is not a restaurant that stays within neat culinary borders. Chef Gavin Chin cooks with a restless imagination, drawing on ideas from different cuisines and allowing them to settle naturally on the plate rather than forcing them together. The result is a tasting menu that feels exploratory without becoming chaotic, with flavours meeting in ways that feel considered rather than contrived. Greens often arrive treated with unexpected care. Kai lan 2.0, for instance, appears lifted by toasted kombu oil and a zesty flicker of yuzu jelly, transforming a familiar vegetable into something far more layered. Even the sweets follow the same instinct for contrast: a chocolate tart sharpened with Sichuan pepper. The dining room is compact and quietly lively, with some fun cocktails to boot.

Tatler Tip
