Hide & Seek

Hidden within Beijing’s urban sprawl, Hide & Seek feels like a tropical daydream, part bar, part café, and entirely its own rhythm. The concept was imagined as an “Urban Oasis Getaway”, a retreat where cocktails, design, and local flavours collide in unexpected harmony.

Behind the bar is Kevin Song, one of Beijing’s most respected mixologists, known from his early days at D Lounge and later at Scandal. Here, he and his team create cocktails that draw on local stories and Chinese ingredients but with a cosmopolitan polish, from the clarified Coconut & Sesame, a baijiu cocktail that feels both nostalgic and new, to Cheese Power, where parmesan gin and lychee find a surprisingly elegant balance.

The design by DNA Design & Art (Shanghai) captures an exotic, holiday mood: lush textures, soft light, and an open terrace that feels a world away from Beijing’s tempo. Inside, the “chef’s table” seats behind the bar invite interaction and storytelling, turning each pour into a performance.

With six inventive menus released over just four years, Hide & Seek continues to redefine Beijing’s bar scene with creativity, warmth and understated confidence.

For the best experience, sit at the bar counter close to the cocktail station, it’s where you’ll catch the most experimentation and easy conversation with the bartenders. For relaxed nights with friends, the lounge’s larger tables offer a slower, more social rhythm.
