Hansik Goo

Korean   |   $ $ $ $   |   Central

A restaurant collaboration between chef Mingoo Kang of Seoul's Mingles and local restaurant group ZS Hospitality

You’ll find the dishes typically associated with Korean cuisine, such as Korean fried chicken and pajeon, on the “add-ons” menu at Hansik Goo, but they are not the stars of the show at this modern Korean fine-dining restaurant. Rather, a carefully compiled tasting menu sees other traditional Korean dishes and elements of the cuisine, such as mandu (dumplings), ddeok (rice cakes) and bugak (vegetable or seaweed crisps) take the stage in a showcase of Korean ingredients and flavours that are not always traditionally presented but are invariably delicious. The menu is accompanied by a comprehensive drinks list that includes traditional Korean alcohols, as well as rarities such as a cabernet sauvignon made in South Korea. It’s all delivered in a space infused with traditional Korean elements and punctuated with works by Korean artists.
