Grappa’s laid-back atmosphere contrasts with an upbeat vibe. Diners can enjoy drinks at the bar before settling down for a bite to eat.Much creativity can be found in the restaurant’s appetizers selection. Each served with a thoughtful presentation, the appetizers, such as Parma ham paired with roasted artichoke hearts or beetroot carpaccio topped off with plump and sweet seared scallops, are delicious. Tender bits of lobster and penne cooked to a perfect al dente are smothered in a flavourful cream sauce in the Penne Aragosta. The richness of the sauce is well balanced and doesn’t take away from the pasta or the natural sweetness of the lobster. A dish definitely worth a try is the roasted lamb chops; a rack of lamb roasted to a crispy tenderness. Delicious in every way, the slightly crispy shell of the lamb seals in the meat juices. The dish is paired with a classic rosemary sauce, which enhances the natural flavours of the lamb. Gelatto and tiramisu are found among the dessert menu. The chocolate and hazelnut semi freddo is worth a try for chocolate lovers. The soft ice cream mousse is loaded with crunchy bits of nuts, offering a pleasant contrast in texture. There is a fair selection of wines as well as an interesting line-up of beers, both fruit and foreign.Although the restaurant can be busy at times, the staff makes every effort to ensure plates are cleared and glasses are never empty.Dinner for two, excluding drinks, will range from $500 to $700.
