Gishiki Lounge

Gishiki Lounge’s plush, emerald decor doesn’t immediately suggest a Japanese theme, but it’s attached to a high-end sushi restaurant, and each cocktail is designed with a Japanese ingredient in mind, from popular flavours like yuzu and kokuto (brown sugar), to the less common daidai (bitter orange), shiitake and mochigome (glutinous rice). There’s a small selection of sake as well as more than a dozen Japanese whiskies available by the glass, and other spirits such as vodka and gin from Japan and beyond. You wouldn’t go for the food alone, but the gyoza, curry croquettes and yakitori make serviceable bar snacks.
