Each year, Halloween in Hong Kong promises a mixed assortment of themed food, drink and nightlife experiences with the city's dining venues magically transforming and embracing the mystical spirit of the season—expect cocktails inspired by the holiday's spookiness and dishes that resonate with seasonal flavours.

From intimate gatherings to grand soirées, there are plenty of options for every preference. Ahead we've pulled together a list of the city's finest offerings to make the most of this All Hallows' Eve this year.

This month, the Lobster Bar and Grill at Island Shangri-La takes diners down the rabbit hole with an Alice in Eerie Land four-course dinner experience. Available on October 28 and 31, diners can play detective and get stuck into an immersive murder mystery. The prize is a one-night stay complete with dining privileges for those who solve it.

What's more, there are Eerie Land Mystical cocktails, each reflecting Alice in Wonderland characters, available for HK$158 throughout the month, along with non-alcoholic options. On October 27 and 28, a live two-piece band will play from 10pm to 1am. A best-dressed contest will take place until the end of the month. Simply don a wonderland-inspired outfit, snap a shot at the Lobster Bar, and share it on Instagram with the hashtags #LBGBestDress, #IslandShangrilaHalloween and #IslandShangriLa to be in with a chance to win HK$1,000 beverage credit.

This Nordic café will be serving up a Halloween-themed afternoon tea from October 28 to November 4. Priced at HK$528 for two, guests can indulge in spooky variations of their signature smørrebrød, a Cookie Monster buckwheat chocolate cookie, lingonberry cupcake, cinnamon and cardamom bun, and more. Each tea set comes with a pumpkin spice latte, which is also available à la carte for HK$58 until the end of the year. For an added thrill, the Blinding Lights Halloween cocktail—a Campari mix with lingonberries and cherry soda—is available for HK$588. Hjem’s afternoon tea is available from Tuesday to Sunday, 3pm to 6pm.

3. Lan Kwai Fong

LKF Concepts dining venues, including Aria, Baci, Fumi and Porterhouse among others, are offering Halloween-themed events as well as food and beverages inspired by the spooky occasion. From a ghost geisha dance at Fumi on October 27 and Halloween surf and turf with tarot readings at Porterhouse on October 28 to magic performances with dinner at Aria on October 28 and 31, Halloween is back in Lan Kwai Fong.

4. Stumpy Bakery

Stumpy Bakery is offering treats, available from October 16 to 31, for both humans and their furry companions this Halloween. Humans can indulge in Bloody Velvet cupcakes, Frankenstein rice kreepies, and Ghost & Mummy cupcakes while the four-legged can nibble on pet-friendly cookies.

From October 27 to 31, guests are encouraged to get in the spirit by dressing their pets in their best Halloween outfits and snapping a photo at the bakery. Those who share this on Instagram, tag, and follow Stumpy Bakery on Instagram will unlock an exclusive 50% discount on all dog treats in the bakery.

5. Relish

Another one for those who like to have dinner with a side of murder, Relish has launched a murder mystery dinner in time for Halloween. This interactive dining affair, with prices starting from HK$1,900 per person, will serve up a three-course menu with free-flow wines, prosecco and beer at the Wong Chuk Hang venue. As the night unfolds, diners are encouraged to bring their detective out to get to the bottom of the mystery.

6. The Cakery

Head to The Cakery for an assortment of health-conscious Halloween desserts including three cakes: the customisable Green Monster, the Asian-inspired Ube Monster with layers of ube jam and vegan vanilla cake, and the vegan Strawberry Monster filled with fresh strawberry jam and frosting, each priced at HK$488. For grander festivities, the Boo Cake at HK$1,280 features gluten and dairy-free black sesame sponge layered with black sesame cream and white chocolate whip ganache, adorned with macaron jack o’lanterns and mochi. Those seeking smaller indulgences can opt for the organic Halloween cake pops, priced at HK$85 each, showcasing designs like the spooky eye, jack o’lantern, and mummy—all with an organic chocolate core.

7. Zuma

On October 28, Zuma will become the Forbidden Palace—a mystical junction of the living and departed. There are two packages available: the party tickets or the special Yashoku night brunch tickets. The party will feature a live DJ, performers, and hidden delights. Attendees are invited to wear costumes mirroring spectral entities from various traditions, with the most ingenious attire winning a special treat. General entry, priced at HK$880 (early-bird tickets at HK$780), grants access from 9.30pm to 1am, inclusive of two Zuma cocktails, free-flow Veuve Clicquot Champagne, beer, and soft drinks. For those who’d like to eat first, the Halloween-themed Yashoku night brunch is available from 8pm to 10pm at HK$1,688, accompanied by free-flow drinks and party entry. Diners on the fifth floor can secure party entry at a discounted HK$550 upon a minimum spend of HK$800.

8. Ichu

From October 18 to 31, Ichu presents a trio of Halloween cocktails including the Tezca, a blend of pisco, rosemary, lemon, and grenadine; the Almada which tempts with dark rum, almond syrup, citrus liquor, and ginger beer with red chocolate blood drips; and the Popoca, a blood-red fusion of smoky mezcal, cinnamon, red wine, creamy egg whites, and lime juice.

Ichu will also be hosting Halloween-themed brunches and parties on October 28. The Momia Azteca Halloween daytime brunch, available from 12pm to 3pm, is priced at HK$498 per person, with an optional premium free flow for an additional HK$498. Meanwhile, the night brunch, from 7pm onwards, is priced at HK$760 per person with premium free flow for HK$498. Thereafter, the Terrace Momia Azteca party, from 7pm until late, is where the night will continue with “fun and eerie entertainment” to enjoy. Early bird tickets are available until October 22 at HK$300; pre-sale tickets from October 23-28 (cut-off at 3pm) at HK$400; and door entry at HK$480. All tickets are inclusive of two standard drinks.

9. Terrible Baby

Terrible Baby is shaking up a couple of fun cocktails for Halloween. First up, the Get Ghosted—an evocative nod to modern romance—blends rosemary-infused gin and mezcal with orange, pumpkin, honey, and a hint of sea buckthorn. Then there is Tricky Treats, a cocktail with fat-washed coconut and pandan rum with rich undertones of peanut butter and condensed milk, taking inspiration from Hong Kong and Southeast Asian desserts. From October 9, these Halloween-themed concoctions are available for HK$100 each.

10. Maggie Choo’s

Cocktails, cabaret and late-night revelry await at Maggie Choo’s this Halloween with their Nightmares & Porcelain Dreams party on October 31 from 7pm onwards. For HK$350 per person (early bird tickets: HK$300), partygoers can enjoy one Halloween cocktail with a choice of Porcelain, a blend of coconut-infused gin and sweet white vermouth enhanced by Curaçao liqueur; Picante, a zesty mix of vodka, raspberry, apple juice, pomegranate syrup, and a hint of jalapeño; and Black Plague, with tequila, pineapple, Curaçao liqueur, activated charcoal and a spicy tajín and salt rim. Aerial performers, contortionists, and dancers, all set to the rhythms of the resident DJ, will also take the stage on the night.

11. Uma Nota

On October 27, from 9pm to 12am, Uma Nota will welcome all to a special Halloween night filled with free-flow drinks (red and white wine, and beer) for HK$300 per person. Then, the following evening on October 28, from 9.30pm to 1am, the revelry continues with the Tentación party. This event transforms the restaurant into a vibrant Latin dance haven, complete with a live DJ set. Attendees are encouraged to don their best costumes across both nights for a chance to win a coveted weekend brunch for two at Uma Nota.

12. The Trilogy

Opened by Singular Concepts—the group behind The Daily Tot, Tell Camellia and more—The Trilogy is a multi-experience music hub in Central. The first to open in this space is the nightlife club Keyz which will host their Halloween party: Space Ravers & Aliens with DJ Diogo Accoily on the decks, live performances, aerial dancers and more on October 28 from 6pm onwards. 13. Aqua

Aqua will be hosting a Halloween night brunch on October 28, from 8.30pm onwards, complete with free-flow Veuve Clicquot Champagne and sake for HK$1,088 per person. At the party, in which tickets are available for HK$398 per person (early bird: HK$348 per person) including 2.5 hours of free-flow Veuve Clicquot Champagne and two special Halloween cocktails, guests will be treated to surprise performances along with two heaven and hell DJ rooms. The brunch ticket allows access to the party until 2am.
