With culinary direction from the celebrated Michelin-starred chef, the first contemporary British restaurant in Vietnam promises to add a fresh, refined note to Saigon’s vibrant dining scene.

With sweeping city views and an interior inspired by the exclusivity of London’s private clubs, The Albion is poised to become a destination of choice for discerning diners.

Chef Kirk Westaway is best known internationally for his restaurant JAAN by Kirk Westaway in Singapore, which has received international awards for four consecutive years. Since becoming Executive Chef in 2015, he has led the charge in defining modern British cuisine on the global stage. At The Albion, he brings his inventive sensibility to an intimate setting, inviting guests to savour sophisticated dishes, ideal for sharing.
Supporting him is Executive Chef Christopher Clarke, a trusted collaborator with years of experience at top-tier British establishments. Together, they’ve curated a menu that reinterprets British culinary traditions through a contemporary lens. The result is an offering that feels both refined and vibrant—breathing fresh life into classic tastes.
Reflecting on his visit, British Deputy Consul General Will Lawrenson shared warmly: “This place makes me feel like coming home.”

The opening party was eye-catching and delicious
A warm welcome marked the official launch of The Albion, hosted by MGallery and attended by notable figures from the business, culinary and arts scenes. The venue, designed in a distinctly British style, accommodates around 60 guests and features ambient lighting, classic wallpaper, blue velvet seating and wood furnishings imported from the UK.

The menu is thoughtfully arranged into four sections: Let’s Begin, Main Courses, To Share and Something Sweet. Each dish is prepared with the finest ingredients, including produce from organic farms in Dalat and premium suppliers worldwide.
“Vietnam, and Ho Chi Minh City in particular, has always held a special place in my heart. I love the warmth of the Vietnamese people, the depth of the culture, and above all, the vibrancy of the cuisine,” shared Kirk Westaway. “It’s remarkable how the Vietnamese palate aligns with that of contemporary British cuisine. Both emphasise subtle flavour and elegant simplicity, qualities that have long inspired my cooking. The gentle sweetness found in Vietnamese food, paired with the ingredients and methods I cherish, creates a memorable journey for the diner. I’m delighted to share this culinary love story with guests through The Albion.”
