What’s unique about this place is its Imperial High Tea available daily from 2.30pm to 6pm. The menu changes on a monthly basis, so that guests have the chance to savour more unique creations. At only $30 per person, you will get to tuck into nine types of freshly made dim sum paired with three types of brew.

Kick-start your afternoon tea with a cup of Long Jing - “unfermented green tea that helps to revive the palate,” shares the tea expert. As you sip your brew, revel in luxurious abalone dumplings and steamed bites teeming with prawns and shark's fin, followed by soft and slightly chewy glutinous rice dumplings stuffed with chicken floss. Next, munch on deep-fried prawns and lotus root dumplings whose golden flaky pastry is intricately pleated, a testament to the kitchen team’s skills.

A half-fermented and more intense Oolong tea (Feng Huan Dan Cong) is served next. The tea master informs you that this tea helps to cleanse your palate. It also balances well with spicy dishes such as minced meat dumplings bathed in piquant Sichuan spice and dried chilli dressing, as well as hearty knife-shredded noodles topped with minced meat and accompanied by a comforting superior stock.

Finally, the sweet gems are married with the Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong red tea. “It’s fermented and has no caffeine, so you won’t have a problem going to sleep at night,” says the tea expert. Pair this with the battered and deep-fried Sichuan glutinous pancake, and pillow-soft potato bun. Cocooned inside these fluffy steamed buns is naturally sweet mashed purple potato. The whole experience rounds off with the signature beancurd dessert – soothing, silky and livened up with wolfberries.
