Café Kool at the Kowloon Shangri-La hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui is known for their broad buffet spreads, where several open kitchens showcase popular cuisines such as Japanese to Indian, Italian and more. Sometimes the restaurant tweaks the cuisine selection to fit the season and since the temperatures are dropping here, not surprisingly, more winter favourites are creeping into the counter.

That includes this Swiss cheese dish of gently toasted raclette. For those who don't know what this is, the Swiss cheese is halved and put under a special grill where the the bubbly and toasted surface gets scraped off, and savoured with sides such as new potatoes and pickles. A beloved dish up in the Alpine regions, now you can sample this wintertime staple just over in Tsim Sha Tsui.
