Mum's special day is just around the corner, which is why we have scoured Singapore's dining scene in search for the best Mother's Day menus to treat her to. And with the island's vibrant F&B scene, our mothers will definitely be spoiled with the plethora of choices that range from different cuisines, buffets and set menus. For a truly indulgent meal, why not bring her to a buffet restaurant with an extensive spread of all her favourite dishes. Or, if she's a small eater, there are some restaurants, too, that offer delicious set menus she will appreciate.

Three-course brunch menu

The culinary team has prepared a glorious three-course brunch on May 9, comprising the Michelin-starred restaurant’s signature dishes. Bring an appetite and tuck into a selection of house-made pastries first before indulging further with the likes of Austrian oxtail bouillon, chervil, bone marrow dumpling; classic Maryland blue crab cakes benedict; and pork schnitzel with country gravy, fried eggs and buttermilk biscuits.

Naturally, all eyes are on the main course—steak. Mum can go for the steak & eggs, starring USDA prime New York sirloin, roasted potatoes and watercress salad, or premium cuts such as American Wagyu ribeye and Hokkaido snow beef sirloin for an additional fee. Mikuni's Mother's Day set menu

2. Mikuni

Mothers who take a liking for Japanese cuisine will delight in chef Keisuke Uno’s Mother’s Day menu, served from May 7 to 9. It consists of the usual favourites but presented with a slight modern twist—such are the thinly sliced kampachi doused with truffle soy sauce; pristine seafood salad enriched with onsen egg, lobster and abalone; and California roll studded with crab, avocado and tobiko.

Leave space for the warm and comforting king crab hot pot, as well as a selection of crisp tempura such as prawn, kinmedai and shiitake mushroom. Dessert is a decadent green tea opera cake, which will pair deliciously well with a glass of Taittinger Brut or Rosé. Book here.

3. Cherry Garden

We’re pretty sure mum won't mind being whisked away to Cherry Garden for a taste of its glorious dim sum brunch on May 8 and 9. The extensive menu has your usual suspects of steamed pork xiao long bao, steamed kurobuta char siew bao, and work-fried radish cake with XO sauce. Take note: these are only the start of an indulgent meal that also has a wide selection of noodles, rice and meaty mains. Proceed to the heavier dishes after these small bites; the stir-fried mee sua noodles is redolent with 'wok hei' and topped with egg, vegetables and Chinese chives, while the beef brisket stew has been slow-cooked until fork-tender and mixed with chunks of turnip. 4. Wakanui Grill Dining

A Mother’s Day celebration within the city but away from the maddening crowd calls for a meal at Wakanui, located at Marina One. The team ensures it’s worth the trip with an extravagant surf and turf menu. Before that, the chefs will whet the appetite with hearty green asparagus and fennel soup accompanied by homemade garlic bread slathered with Wagyu beef fat.

The soup is light enough so mum can enjoy the mains, starting with the mouth-watering salt-baked isaki (Japanese grunt fish) wrapped with lotus leaf. Mums with a sweet tooth will be glad to know that Sofitel Singapore City Centre’s executive pastry Chef Sam Leong has teamed up with the L'Éclair Pâtisserie team to craft an exquisite afternoon tea spread, available throughout the month. Served in an exquisite two-tiered stand is a curated selection of sweets and savouries, consisting of the patisserie's signature mini eclairs which come in ispahan, lemon meringue, kaya pandan and Paris Brest flavours.

These are complemented with Leong's signature savouries such as baked croissant with truffle eggs; kueh pie tee with crab meat; and caviar cream and baked frittata with octopus and smoked cayenne aioli. 6. Straits Kitchen

For a feast of local delights, halal-certified Straits Kitchen is enticing the matriarch of the house (plus the whole family, of course) with a sumptuous buffet spread of jazzed up hawker delights and more. Highlights include the braised seafood clay pot brimming with abalone, sea cucumber, dried scallops and tiger prawns; braised crab meat tossed with silky glass noodles; and fiery beef rendang made with premium Australian meat. Why celebrate Mother’s Day for one day when you can do it over a whole week? At Hai Tien Lo, the chefs’ special set menus for mum are available from May 3 to 9, and consists of home-style dishes Asian mothers would often prepare for their children.

Among them are the sautéed sliced beef with kai lan in oyster sauce, a family staple in Guangdong, as well as the stewed duck with fragrant yam in fermented beancurd sauce cooked in a claypot. Mum will be welcomed with an indulgent fresh seafood platter laden with tiger prawns, green lip mussels, half shell scallops, Alaskan snow crabs, lobsters and more. It's a delicious start to a parade of more dishes to come, so mamas should prepare their appetite for the salt-baked barramundi, grilled mackerel and lobster au naturel, among others.
