With a long weekend ahead, it's the perfect opportunity to get out and explore the best of what Hong Kong has to offer––from relaxing with a drink in hand at a rooftop bar, to checking out the latest openings, new menus, drinks and seasonal offers. To offer you a helping hand, we're rounding up everything that you may have missed from the dining scene this week. Read on to find more about Basehall's Oktoberfest celebrations, Zeng's new seafood brunch and more.

New weekend brunch at Zeng

Perched on the 30th floor of V Point in the heart of Causeway Bay, Zeng is turning one this month and serving a brand new Signature Seafood Collections Brunch to celebrate. The menu is available Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 12pm to 3pm, and features all-you-can-eat oysters, along with dishes including cold lobster salad, sliced Australian M5 wagyu sirloin steak and Japanese cheesecake. Perfect to enjoy this long weekend, don't forget to add on free-flow Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut Champagne to complete the lavish affair.


Transportive new menus at Black Sheep Restaurants

Travel plans may still be on pause, but Black Sheep Restaurants are transporting us––or our taste buds, at least––far away from Hong Kong. Available Mondays and Tuesdays until the end of November, get a taste of Southern Italy with Osteria Marzia's Day Trips From Napoli menu, featuring a selection of antipasti, pasta, catch of the day dessert.

If Sri Lanka is on your travel list, head to Hotal Colombo for its Street Snacks & Kari menu, available Tuesdays and Wednesdays and featuring chicken kari, hoppers, pol sambol and more. Meanwhile, Buenos Aires Polo Club will be serving an Argentinian-style menu for two, including classic Empanadas, pure Black Angus 14oz sirloin and Malvaviscos––a specially created marshmallow dessert filled with dulce de leche ice cream and toasted table side. 


Date by Tate unveils autumn menu

Launched in July of this year, Date by Tate is one-Michelin starred Tate Dining Room's gourmet home dining and online shopping experience. Promising to bring the restaurant's food directly to your door, the platform has launched a new Autumn Gastronomic Affair, featuring a bread box, along with dishes that include an autumn vegetable tian, Mayura beef tenderloin en brioche, chestnut tiramisu and more. 

Fans of the restaurant can also order items such as caviar, cheese boxes, chocolate chip cookie dough and a DIY bartender kit from the platform.

Celebrate Oktoberfest at Basehall

Get into the seasonal spirit with Oktoberfest celebrations at Basehall this weekend. Young Master's Pub 1842 is going all out with plenty of beer drinking, traditional German beer competitions, and special Oktoberfest band on October 23 and 24. A special Oktoberfest Pilsner cask will be available from 7pm, along with various German schnapps. Line your stomach with Oktoberfest-inspired dishes from other Basehall vendors, including Lebkuchen Gingerbread cookies by Cookie DPT.


New chef and menu at Prohibition Grill House & Cocktail Bar

Housed in the Hong Kong Ocean Park Marriott Hotel, Prohibition Grill House & Cocktail Bar welcomes chef de cuisine Ivan Chan this autumn. To mark the occasion, the seasoned chef is introducing a new a la carte menu, featuring steakhouse classics such as USDA prime black angus New York strip; New Orleans jumbo crab cake; Philly cheesesteak; lobster mac & cheese and more.

Chilli Fagara's fiery new aperitivo

Start your night off with a kick, with Chilli Fagara's new aperitivo menu. Dishes include chilli-oil dunked pork and vegetable dumplings; ma la-style hot wings; golden-fried crispy calamari; tangy pork riblets, and vegetable spring rolls. Available daily from 5pm to 7pm, for every three dishes ordered, six chilled beers are thrown in on the house.

If you'd rather stay home, the restaurant also offers a to-go set available via Deliveroo. The At-Home Aperitivo offers the same dishes––including three snacks and six bottles of Peroni––presented in easy-to-share, eco-friendly containers.


Aqua Nueva pops up at Statement

London’s award-winning contemporary Spanish restaurant Aqua Nueva will be taking over Tai Kwun's Statement for the next three months. Guests can look forward to getting their fill of Spanish tapas, with the restaurant's signature croquettes––available in five flavours, including: Manchego and black truffle, Ibérico Ham, Boston lobster and more––along with other delights including spiced crab tostadas and patatas bravas, and plenty of cocktails.

From November 7, guests will also be able to enjoy a five-course weekend brunch, featuring Mediterranean sharing platters, a selection of main courses, assorted desserts and free-flow Veuve Clicquot Champagne.


Man Ho Chinese Restaurant celebrates its first anniversary

After undergoing a major renovation, JW Marriott's Man Ho Chinese Restaurant re-opened a year ago. To celebrate the first anniversary of its re-opening, the restaurant is set to celebrate this month with a new eight-course wine pairing menu, featuring refined Cantonese cuisine and a selection of fine wines. Curated by Chinese Executive Chef Jayson Tang and Sommelier William Ma, the menu features six varieties of extraordinary Champagne, sake and wines, along with dishes such as pan-fried Canadian scallop with carrot sauce; wagyu beef with St. George’s mushrooms; braised South African dried abalone with black mushroom and vegetable; and salted egg yolk crème brûlée.
