A slew of fashion houses are fusing brand-led experiences with refined, approachable fare in cafés that both delights and surprises gourmands
From Milan to Seoul, Paris to Tokyo, the world’s most storied fashion houses are no longer content with the runway or the sheen of glossy boutiques. Increasingly, they are crossing into the culinary realm, unveiling branded cafés and restaurants where devotees can sip a cappuccino beneath the very insignia they might wear on their sleeve.
These ventures are less about coffee or cuisine than they are about immersion. Each space is an invitation to step inside the brand’s universe, where lifestyle and luxury entwine. In a moment when experiences rival objects in value, the café becomes another stage for storytelling—an edible extension of the maison’s myth, deepening desire while offering, quite literally, a taste of its allure.

Prada Caffè

Nothing says “I’m at the Prada Caffè” quite like the black-and-white checkered floors that pay homage to the brand’s first historic boutique in Milan, Italy. That said, the café is also a space of effortless sophistication, with celadon Japanese porcelain and walls adorned with delicate floral bas-reliefs. Here, the art of leisurely excess begins with soft bread rolls, cradling jewels of smoked salmon or lobster, followed by beef tartare showered with parmigiano reggiano shavings.
For something more substantial, consider the succulent Mediterranean roasted octopus, draped with velvety corn cream and a splash of paprika oil. Perhaps most audacious is the summer-inspired panettone, an iconic Milanese leavened bread tastefully reimagined with semi-candied apricots, candied lemon cubes and almond glaze, in honour of Prada’s heritage. For total Italian immersion, all that is left to do is to enjoy these fine plates over elegant silverware and hand-blown crystal glassware.

AP Café

Watches and gastronomic wonders collide at the world’s first Audemars Piguet Café in Singapore. Housed in the storied Raffles Singapore, AP Café takes the sophisticated Swiss café experience to the next level, with the space furnished with marbled tables and arched-accented ceilings. To converge both horological hedonists and culinary connoisseurs, Dave Pynt of acclaimed Burnt Ends was tasked with designing a menu inspired by Le Brassus, the home of Audemars Piguet in Switzerland.
Perhaps most iconic is the ornate Golden Roesti, made of savoury fried potato cakes wrapped in gold leaf and topped with caviar, mirroring the 38mm iconic watch face; or the white pepper-laced roasted king crab that arrives in a caviar tin with creamy avocados and even more caviar. Diners can also expect signature pastries and delicacies such as the gula melaka pain suisse with palm sugar custard cream and the Swiss roll, lined with creme de marron and white cream.

At the new Coach Coffee Shop in Resorts World Sentosa’s lifestyle enclave, Weave, the meticulous craftsmanship that built the brand’s leather empire is reimagined through a slice of New York café culture, accented with Manhattan sophistication. Set within the Coach retail store, the playful, chic space offers 35 seats split between an intimate 12-seat interior wrapped in tropical greenery and vintage New York nostalgia, and a breezy 23-seat alfresco terrace.
American comfort classics are given reverential treatment: think towering corned beef Reubens; American Wagyu hotdog in buttery brioche; and grilled cheese toasties with tomato basil soup. For iconic soft serves, go for the waffle cone embossed with Coach’s iconic C logo. Feeling adventurous? Take on the Singapore-exclusive chilli crab soft serve. Otherwise, classic options such as peanut butter and jelly or peaches and cream would satisfy the sweet tooth.
Café Kitsuné

Nestled against the world’s tallest indoor waterfall inside Jewel Changi Airport is Café Kitsuné, a 99-square-metre temple to Franco-Japanese café culture. The space itself embodies contemporary Japanese style with its clean lines, wood tones and minimalist feel. The menu offers a blend of Parisian patisserie precision and unique Asian flavours. Look for dainty entremets with variations like pandan coconut, sesame matcha and azuki, and chocolate hazelnut.
Beyond its signature matcha and coffee, drink options include the likes of jasmine grapefruit with sea salt cream, where floral and citrus notes are balanced by a savoury finish. For a light bite, choose from an egg mayo sandwich or a tomato margherita quiche. Better yet, indulge in outlet-exclusive brunch items like the smoked salmon eggs benedict or a thick French toast.
