Karma Kandara unveils Tandoori Bar & Grill, a beachfront Indian restaurant offering authentic regional flavours and relaxed seaside dining against sweeping ocean views.
Finding a truly authentic beachfront Indian restaurant in Bali that balances casual coastal charm with rich culinary heritage has long been a rare treat. Tucked away along the dramatic limestone cliffs of Ungasan, Karma Kandara has answered that call with the opening of Tandoori Bar & Grill—Bali’s latest beachfront Indian restaurant.
Designed as an easygoing, all-day venue, the space moves effortlessly from sunny afternoon bites to lingering evening dinners. The experience is thoughtfully split into two distinct chapters. From late morning through late afternoon, the kitchen focuses on vibrant street-food classics. Guests can settle in for honest, flavourful favourites such as Pav Bhaji, Vada Pav, Paneer Chilli, and spiced Chicken Tikka Kathi Rolls—perfect for an informal lunch overlooking the ocean.

As dusk falls across the coastline, the atmosphere shifts and the clay ovens take centre stage. The dinner menu transitions into tandoor-grilled specialities, aromatic curries, and generous sharing plates made for gathering with family and friends. Starters feature tender Lamb Seekh Kebab, Mushroom Tikka, and Chicken Tikka Kandhari marinated in a gentle pomegranate-yogurt sauce.
The main courses showcase a balanced tribute to India’s diverse culinary landscape. Vegetarian offerings include smoky Baingan Bharta and velvety Palak Paneer, while classic options range from rich Butter Chicken in a tomato-cashew glaze to the slow-cooked, aromatic depth of Rajasthani Laal Mas mutton curry. Fragrant biryanis, freshly baked breads, crisp raitas, and traditional desserts round out the meal.
Guiding the kitchen is chef Jeevraj Singh, who learned the fundamentals of regional spicing in his grandmother’s kitchen in Rajasthan. Having cooked across royal palaces and global kitchens before joining the Karma family, he brings an authentic yet personal perspective to every dish.
