The new restaurant by the Italian chef behind three-Michelin-starred Osteria Francescana will open in late 2023 or early 2024, with a preview pop-up from September 20 to 23

Come December 2023 to January 2024, lifestyle enclave Como Dempsey will boast a glittering new dining destination. Torno Subito, helmed by Massimo Bottura of three-Michelin-starred Osteria Francescana and the trendy Gucci Osteria, will become the celebrity chef’s first permanent restaurant in Singapore.

Torno Subito, which means “I’ll be right back” in colloquial Italian, is an offshoot of the flagship restaurant first launched at The Palm in Dubai. The restaurant casts a rose-coloured glance back to the Italy of the 1960s, an era of liberation and modernity encapsulated by the glittering Golden Age of Italian cinema and the shimmering sun on the Adriatic Riviera. The freedom of the period is reflected in the food, which traverses the regional diversity of Italy and remains respectful to traditional Italian flavours—albeit with creative twists.

Bottura, whose restaurant Osteria Francescana won the title of World's Best Restaurant in 2016 and 2018, was previously in Singapore for a Gucci Osteria pop-up. Those who cannot wait to taste Bottura’s cuisine again can head down to 28 Dempsey Road for an exclusive pop-up from September 20 to 23, which will offer delights by head chef Alessio Pirozzo, who also helms Torno Subito in Dubai. Guests can expect hearty pizzas like the pizza al tartufo, a sourdough pizza with fior di latte cheese and fresh black truffle, as well as a handmade cavatelli pasta with carabineros prawns, red bell pepper sauce, and smoked paprika. Don’t miss out on exclusives like the “Tiramisubito”, Torno Subito’s version of a tiramisu that reflects its commitment to “tradition in evolution”.
