The Hong Kong flagship carrier and luxury boutique hotel have launched a brand new mooncake collection created with family and time-honoured traditions in mind

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a time spent with loved ones—and this year, Cathay wants to help Hongkongers celebrate the spirit of the season and create long-lasting memories.

The city’s travel lifestyle brand has joined forces with luxury boutique hotel Upper House to launch a collection of mooncakes that celebrates tradition, heritage and family.

The collection features six miniature mooncakes in three flavours: lotus seed paste with egg yolk, an enduring classic; red bean paste with chenpi, or dried mandarin orange peel—two staple Chinese ingredients; and Japanese Uji matcha, which offers a modern and refreshing take on the sweet treat.

In a thoughtful tribute to old Hong Kong, each mooncake has a design inspired by tile patterns seen in many older structures and establishments across the city.

And in a nod to the tradition of moon gazing during Mid-Autumn Festival, this collection comes complete with a delicate lantern with LED lighting: made for leisurely evening strolls, it is inspired by the glow of the moon.

The mooncake box is designed to be used as a handy organiser after the festivities come to an end. It is both a sustainable storage solution, and a memento of great times spent with friends and family.

Priced at HK$520 or 9,290 Asia miles, Cathay & The Upper House Assorted Mini Mooncakes are available for pre-order now.
