For this romantic occasion, chef Marco Xodo of Italian trattoria Testina has crafted a six-course menu available on February 14 with dishes such as white asparagus salad, beef tartare with marinated egg yolk, homemade cavatelli, langoustine and the rather fitting dish of chargrilled beef heart. The Valentine’s Day menu can also be enjoyed with a handpicked selection of Italian wines.

Taking Valentine’s Day to new heights, the 49th floor to be exact, Salisterra is presenting a five-course menu that goes down well with the heart-stopping views of Hong Kong. Here, executive chef Cary Docherty is serving dishes such as Ebisu oyster, lobster with fennel velouté, roasted Hokkaido scallop, Wagyu sirloin with winter truffle and beef jus on 14 February that are sure to impress any date.

The newly opened modern Japanese cuisine counter space inside BaseHall 02 offers various forms of caviar—one of the more luxurious aphrodisiacs—on a regular basis but on Valentine’s Day, it seems especially appropriate. Helmed by chef Sato Hiyoshi, Artifact has menus for lunch and dinner on the day, with dishes that incorporate the salt-cured roe in numerous formats. There are also additional options for caviar and wine pairings. Highlights include Hokkaido scallop with wasabi and Kaluga caviar, kinmedai with kabu and yuzu, and more.

Available on February 14, Cultivate is offering an intimate dining experience with a tasting menu that features an assortment of red and pink hues such as a canape with venison tartare, rhubarb with sweet shrimp, Korean strawberry with tuna noodles, M7 Wagyu tenderloin with winter black truffles and heart-shaped duck fat potatoes, among other dishes. Dinner will be served with seating times of 6.30pm, 7.15pm (for the private table), and 8.15pm.

5. Magistracy Dining Room

For a more private Valentine’s Day experience, head to the balcony of the Magistracy Dining Room from February 13 to 19 to enjoy a romantic dinner that overlooks the restaurant in the grandest way. The menu includes British elements that reflect the atmosphere including fresh oysters, Petrossian Tsar Imperial Ossetra caviar service, Brittany blue lobster thermidor and the signature prime rib. To complete the experience, the restaurant also offers a wine pairing as well as arrival drinks in the Botanical Garden, a private tour of The Magistracy after dinner, and a bouquet of flowers.

BluHouse chef de cuisine Giovanni Galeota is whipping up a romantic dinner spanning six courses in the evocative Dining Room space overlooking the harbour. Comprising delectable Italian dishes like “Riserva San Massimo” Carnaroli rice with Chioggia beetroot and Hokkaido scallop, Patagonia toothfish with green asparagus, and roasted M5 Wagyu sirloin with polenta and pecorino sauce, the menu also comes with a special dessert of white chocolate and Alba hazelnut with raspberry and mulberry granita titled ‘All You Need Is Love’.

Criss-crossing the breadth of Japan for the finest ingredients, the dishes range from a trio of canapes with oyster and gentle hyuganatsu citrus from Miyazaki, to silky chawanmushi with delicate Asari clams, and mouth-watering Saga Wagyu ribeye. The menu is offered only on February 14, the nine-course menu features seasonal Japanese ingredients at its core, with the likes of kuruma ebi, Mochida tomato, ankimo, Ezo abalone, uni, wagyu beef, and strawberries serving as the hero ingredient of each respective dish.

Chef Rafa Gil takes lovers on a journey through the ages as the participant in Netflix’s The Final Table series brings back some of his signature dishes from years past. On the menu for Valentine’s Day are delicacies like the black truffle egg soufflé, which Gil cooked on the show; along with his spherical olives from 2013 and the La Rambla “Kinder” Egg from 2015. Mains like lobster and plankton creamy rice, and pollo à la Catalana will also be offered, before a sweet ending with the “Pav-Love” dessert of meringue with tamarillo and strawberry sorbet.

Launching on the day of love, the chef’s table is secluded away from the main dining room, and can be booked via a sumptuous package for the night for a cool HK$16,800 for two. For this heart-throbbing price, the lucky couple will be transported to and from the restaurant in a limousine and greeted with a bouquet of fresh flowers and a bottle of Krug Rosé, before tucking into an eight-course degustation menu that includes dishes like the red prawn coral panna cotta, langoustine with honey peas and citrus sabayon, bottoni filled with Buffalo Robiola and topped with black truffle shavings, and Australian M9 Wagyu tenderloin. The couple will then depart with a farewell gift of homemade chocolates.

The former includes signature dishes like La Lune de Cadoret oyster with watercress jelly and Royal Oscietra caviar, Le Langouste Royal rock lobster charcoal-grilled with comté, yellow wine emulsion endive and morteau sausage, and L’Agneau des Fermes D’Axuria baby lamb shoulder confit with “pommes soufflées” in a heart shape and espelette peppers harissa.
