For EQ Kuala Lumppur, an annual tradition is to have Citarasa Nipah, their Ramadan buffet. Showcasing the rich heritage of Malay cuisine, the buffet features a plethora of dishes created from the chefs with one simple brief—rustic simplicity. It’s a taste of heritage, from fresh bites of ulam, dipped in traditional sambals, with crackers, dried fried fish and salads, it’s a taste of heritage, to favourites like green papaya salad (kerabu betik muda), pomelo salad (kerabu limau bali), Indonesian star gooseberry leaf salad (urap pucuk manis), young mango salad (kerabu mangga), young jackfruit salad (kerabu nangka), banana heart salad (kerabu jantung pisang), and fiddlehead fern salad (kerabu pucuk paku).
Many of these ingredients are hard to find on a day-to-day basis, and the team at EQ Kuala Lumpur go out of their way to recreate the taste of home. Other crowd pleasers include bubur lambuk, rendang tulang rusuk, and an assortment of salai are available. All dishes are prepared as authentically as possible, with some recipes within their archive that date back over 50 years.

A new alternative to Ramadan sit-down affairs, find street food stalls lining the rooms with stalls of ayam golek, satay, roti john, murtabak, roti canai, a variety of noodles, bakso, and other rice dishes and a range of lauk.
