Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to drop hundreds of dollars on high-quality sushi in Singapore at these Japanese restaurants

Everyone is aware of the hefty prices that exceptional sushi comes with at some of Singapore’s top Japanese restaurants. These typically omakase feasts often feature seafood freshly imported from Japan (sometimes delivered that very same day), ensuring the quality and freshness of the fish. But as the cost of living rises relentlessly in Singapore—the city-state became the world’s most expensive city in 2023—even fine dining regulars are feeling the pinch.

Luckily, Singapore also takes its status as an international food paradise very seriously, and if you look in the right places, you'll find there are a plethora of mid-range but high quality sushi omakase options available. If you love the taste of melt-in-the-mouth fresh sashimi draped atop hand-shaped bite-sized mounds of sticky sushi rice, read on to find out where you can find the best value-for-money top quality sushi in Singapore.
