Forum
Traditional Cantonese restaurants owned by Yeung Koon Yat who is often called “The King of Abalone”.
Tatler Says
Hong Kong institution Forum opened in the 1970s and continues to be a respected establishment today. The signature Ah Yat abalone, named after the owner, is Forum’s most famous offering, though that doesn’t mean you should ignore the other authentic dishes on offer: think crispy chicken, or elevated Hong Kong-style bites like roasted pork belly with Tai O shrimp paste. It’s obvious that the staff are old hands in the hospitality industry and are used to serving picky eaters—they’re ready to answer any question you throw at them.
Signature Dishes
- Braised Ah Yat abalone with goose web
- Deep-fried pork with dried mandarin peel in sweet and sour sauce
- Forum crispy chicken
Tatler Tip
Try the classic red bean soup dessert with a twist: it’s served with a red bean ice lolly, created in collaboration with local gourmet ice pop brand Nice Pops.
