Contemporary Spanish establishment bringing the vibrancy and tastes of Spain's lively tapas bars to Singapore

For fans of Spanish tapas, Esquina is a familiar name. The restaurant, which opened in 2011, is now led by Barcelona native chef Carlos Montobbio, who takes a modern approach to tapas, experimenting with flavours, textures and ingredients (only the finest and the freshest). The result is a menu filled with curious combinations like Esquina’s signature suckling pig paired with rhubarb and apple chutney, or the cheekily- named BBC, which comprises beer ice-cream paired with banana and caramel. Montobbio even makes vegetarian dishes exciting, serving grilled lettuce, for example, with a side of herb yoghurt. The wine list, which includes sherries by the glass, will take your tastebuds on a tour of Spanish vineyards. All of this can be experienced in a two-storey shophouse that captures the laid-back charm of Barcelona.
