With plates that are creative and perfect for sharing, Elementary offers a fresh, casual dining experience in the quiet grid of Tai Hang

On a corner in the quiet grid of
 Tai Hang stands Elementary,
a minimalist, contemporary restaurant that offers up a carefully thought out selection
of dishes designed for sharing. Categorised under light, medium and heavy, highlights include the hamachi ceviche (light) which
sees an almost buttery cured fish complemented by the umami of sea asparagus and the kick of green chilli dressing – each element in ideal measure; the rarely seen duck heart kebabs (medium) served with a parsley vinaigrette that helps to enliven the meat; and the sticky lamb ribs (heavy), served pink with a rich sauce and
a refreshing slaw. The chilli crab pasta (medium) is a popular choice, rich in seafood flavour with lemon zest crumbs adding texture. A succinct wine list sees most of its bottles also available by the glass and all very reasonably priced. Turn to dessert and the standout is the ice cream sandwich with a selection of homemade ice creams available as filling, ranging from creamy vanilla to a salt-sweet salted egg yolk that’s big and bold. Service is warm and friendly and adds to an experience that is casual and relaxed and fresh.

Tatler Tip

Brunch is available on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays with a selection of breakfast-appropriate dishes served in the morning and some of the more popular a la carte items available in the afternoon.
