Chinese wine lovers are in luck, with the inaugural Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards identifying the best bottles in the land
Once regarded as discount bin liquid, Chinese wine has transformed beyond recognition in the past two decades as China’s economy ballooned, creating a huge middle class that has developed an appreciation for fine wine, and lifting Chinese wine producers to the world stage. In its latest milestone, Chinese wine can now boast of its own dedicated awards programme, the Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards, which was held for the first time ever on April 13 at Wynn Macau.
Bringing together 500 international wine enthusiasts, winemakers, industry experts, and media representatives, the awards gala saw the crowning of a new crop of coveted cuvées. A panel of 27 internationally acclaimed wine judges, including Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers, winemakers, educators, journalists, hoteliers, and wine buyers, meticulously evaluated over 700 submissions from nearly 200 premium wineries through rigorous blind tastings.
