The Ritz-Carlton’s wine club invite wine connoisseurs to monthly food and wine gourmet experiences at one of its restaurants
For those that are bored of their usual crowd and would like to try out restaurants and wines with someone new, then the Ritz-Carlton’s Vinosseur Wine Club is an interesting concept (and not a bad gift idea for the upcoming Father’s Day!). The membership fee is HK$1,900, which entitles members to a premium welcome gift set as well as 10% savings on all Vinosseur events. These events are held on the first Wednesday of every month, Vinosseur invites its members to a monthly food and wine pairing meal at the Ritz’s restaurants and bars, such as Tosca, Tin Lung Heen, Ozone and Café 103.
Each month, assistant director of food and beverage Roberto Garonne (also named Best Sommelier in Europe in 2005) picks the interesting and varied wines to go with each meal. The themes include “The Pillars of Bordeaux”, “King and Queen of Wines with White Tuffles” and “Port and Sherry with Cholatier”.
The next upcoming meeting is on June 6, and the theme is Germanic and Aromatic. Held at Chinese restaurant Tin Lung Heen and the five-course menu includes:
- deep-fried crab shell and hua diao-steamed crab claw paired with a 2010 Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenhur Riesling Spatlese
- barbecued Iberian pork; sweet and sour pork rolls; and crispy eggplant paired with a 2010 Schloss Johannisberger Siberlack Riesling
- wagyu beef with white asparagus in black bean sauce, paired with a 2006 Spatburgunder Trocken, Markus Molitor
The tasting menu is priced at HK$1,888 for non-members and HK$1,688 for Vinosseur members.
