8 Whiskies To Celebrate Season 8

House Tully: The Singleton Glendullan Select

70cl; ABV 40%

House Tully at Riverrun rules over The Riverlands. The power of water flows through The Singleton Glendullan Select, which was crafted on the riverbank of the River Fiddich in Dufftown, Moray, Scotland. Harnessing the power of water, a water wheel powers the entire distillery.

House Stark: Dalwhinnie Winter’s Frost

70cl; ABV 43%

House Stark’s resilience, strength and ability to thrive under the most intense situations are greatly shaped by Winterfell’s frigid temperatures. Much like The North which the Starks call home, Dalwhinnie is known for being one of the highest distilleries in all of Scotland. The extreme conditions here give the Dalwhinnie Winter’s Frost its honeyed sweetness and spicy warmth.

House Targaryen: Cardhu Gold Reserve

70cl; ABV 40%

Fueled by the same fiery spirit possessed by Daenerys Targaryen, this single malt celebrates legendary women. The Cardhu distillery was pioneered by Helen Cumming and her daughter-in-law Elizabeth in the 1800s, a time when the female figures were especially rare in the male-dominated whisky industry.

House Lannister: Lagavulin 9 Year Old

70cl; ABV 46%

Legendary single malt brand Lagavulin has stood on the shores of Islay for more than 200 years. Likewise, the Lannisters have planned and plotted their rise to conquer the Iron Throne for a long time coming. Reflective of the Lannister’s riches, this single malt is best served neat or with a single drop of water.

The Night’s Watch: Oban Bay Reserve

70cl; ABV 43%

The Oban distillery sits beneath a steep cliff overlooking the bay between the Western Highlands and Scotland's outlying islands. In similar fashion, Castle Black, home of The Night’s Watch, straddles the border between Westeros and the lands beyond The Wall. The libation's woody, spicy dryness would warm The Night’s Watch on even the coldest of nights.

House Greyjoy: Talisker Select Reserve

70cl; ABV 45.8%

House Greyjoy rules the Iron Islands and worships the Drowned God. Talisker was a natural pair for the clan, seeing as the single malt is distilled on Isle of Skye, one of Scotland's most remote and rugged parts. The Talisker Select Reserve's maritime character are the result of the distillery being surrounded by saline air.

House Baratheon: Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old

70cl; ABV 40%

Royal lineage drives the iconic pairing between House Baratheon and Royal Lochnagar. Recalling Robert Baratheon, who once sat upon the Iron Throne, Royal Lochnagar was granted a Royal Warrant after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert visited the distillery in 1848.

House Tyrell: Clynelish Reserve

70cl; ABV 51.2%

House Tyrell of Highgarden rules over the lush and fertile region of Westeros called the Reach. Clynelish too, is surrounded by green pastures and rolling hills, with scenic views of the North Sea. This vibrant, golden Scotch is light and floral but not to be underestimated.
