This special collaboration takes Nespresso to six of the freshest mixology hotspots in the city

A new year means new energy, and where better to taste that than in Nespresso's latest collaboration with six recently opened cocktail bars in Hong Kong? Riding off of the Tatler Bar programme at Tatler Cocktail Festival 2023, the wide-ranging collaboration sees six of the featured bars create original libations based on Nespresso's Professional collection, available from now until Feburary 6.

The Origins range from Nespresso Professional is a selection of renowned single-origin coffees, each echoing the characteristics of the land it is grown on. Cultivated by farmers following strict sustainable practices, all the capsules are 100% recyclable and can be used to make new aluminium objects. As a certified B-Corp organisation, Nespresso is committed to using coffee as a force for good.

Where to drink

First up in the month-long collaboration is Plantation Tea Bar, which is serving the all-new Spreeze Martini made using Nespresso Professional Peru Organic coffee from the Origins range, Darjeeling-infused gin, peach liqueur and homemade tangerine peel syrup. The result is a layered drink that brings out the floral and fruity notes of the coffee.

From January 2 to 8, Hong Kong's original speakeasy 001 is offering the Bittersweet: a twist on the classic Americano made using Nespresso Professional Peru Organic coffee, Campari, Fernet Branca, Punt e Mes and elderflower tonic. A refreshing long drink to open up the appetite for all the lovers of Italian bitters out there.

Mostly Harmless takes over from January 9 to 16 with the Peru, a stirred, spirit-forward drink featuring Nespresso Professional Peru Organic coffee, rum and sweet vermouth. The simple composition here helps to bring out the earthiness of the coffee.

Then, between January 17 and 23, take flight at Intervals in Hong Kong International Airport with a serving of the Floating Skyland, featuring Nespresso Professional Guatemala coffee, L7M Doba Yej mezcal, shochu, Scrappy’s Fire Bitters and roasted malt espuma, with a decadent topping of mascarpone cream cheese.

At Takumi Mixology Salon, savour a duo of coffee-infused cocktails from January 24 to 30. The Coffee Cherry mixes Nespresso Professional Brazil coffee with Japanese gin, port wine, Yerba Maté tea and fresh cranberry; while the Gin & Cascara is a tantalising marriage of Nespresso Professional Brazil coffee, Japanese gin, medium-bodied Pedro Ximenez sherry and jasmine.

Finally, sip on a more alcoholic take of the viral Maotai latte with the Maotai Espresso Martini at Kinsman from January 31 to February 6. Starring Nespresso Professional Colombia Organic coffee, the cocktail is comprised of Maotai, banana liqueur, vodka and sesame oil for a drink that highlights the savoury notes inherent in the baijiu's sauce aroma.
