Back for its 11th edition, Negroni Week 2023 will see over 90 participating bars and a series of exciting pop-up events happening across the island
Negroni Week is back, putting the classic Italian cocktail in the spotlight once again. Taking place from September 18 to 24, the 11th edition of Negroni Week will see bars and restaurants around the globe gather to celebrate the iconic concoction.
Bitter, sweet, and fruity, the cocktail first created in Italy in 1919 has become a classic choice for cocktail lovers across the world, and has in recent years consistently been ranked the world's bestselling cocktail by Drinks International, a global journal focused on the alcohol industry. Over the years, bartenders, including those in Singapore, have innovated to create their own spins on Ernest Hemingway's favourite drink, elevating it with flavours ranging from botanical and spicy to nutty and savoury.
This year, Negroni Week in Singapore will see participation from over 90 bars including critically acclaimed names like Jigger & Pony, Tess Bar & Kitchen, and Anti:dote. The week-long event will also see various pop-ups honouring the drink across the island.
Of course, tipple always tastes better when it’s for a good cause. Themed “The Power of Timeless Bonds” as an ode to the connection bartenders have with their craft, the annual event will see bars across the globe donating a portion of Negroni sales to their chosen local charities throughout the week.
So if you find yourself in need of some refreshment, get ready to toast with and to the simple but beloved cocktail. Here are five bars to get you in the mood for some ruby red revelry.
