Blending ancient art and digital technology, Maison Hennessy brings the mythical dragon to life with the help of 500 drones
Maison Hennessy is pulling out all the stops to usher in the Year of the Dragon. First, contemporary artist Yang Yongliang combined ancient art and digital technology to design mythical dragons that came alive in the Hennessy Paradis, XO and VSOP limited-edition bottles. Next, larger-than-life displays of the legendary dragon alongside Yang’s artwork and the limited edition bottles were featured in an exclusive and interactive pop-up experience at both Ion Orchard and Changi Airport Terminal 1.
The third and final act involved a touch of technology, replacing traditional lanterns with drones. On January 20, under the mesmerising city skyline, a whopping 500 drones were rounded up at the Padang to orchestrate a drone show on an unprecedented scale—a first-ever by the cognac giant on the global stage. For those who missed the showing, here’s how it went down.
