We take a look back at the Krug Echoes Christmas Edition cocktail event, a perfect evening of champagne, jazz, and Michelin-starred food

Last Christmas, Krug designed a perfect evening combining champagne-fuelled revelry, award-winning cuisine and an electric atmosphere punctuated by live jazz. In celebration of the holiday season, the champagne house hosted notable guests including Denise Ho, Christy Liang, Carmen Choi, Betty Ng, Edwin Pun, Roman Chao, Jamie Lee, Brandon Chau and Faye Tsui at the beautiful Boffi De Padova Studio in Lee Garden Three, Causeway Bay.

During the event, Krug Lover and Krug Ambassade Vicky Cheng of one Michelin-starred VEA restaurant and his team prepared a tantalising menu of festive bites to warm and delight guests. Among the warming treats were sea cucumber and crab wontons in a hot broth; burrata and truffle grilled cheese sandwiches; plus sweet potato and chorizo pie, along with apple tarte tatin and smoked cinnamon croissants by pastry chef Karys Logue.

As guests enjoyed glasses of chilled Krug champagne on the candlelit terrace, virtuoso harmonicist C.Y. Leo imbued the space with holiday spirit with his jazz renditions of beloved festive tunes as well as his band's original compositions. The talented musician had personally crafted the playlist for the night—the compositions were all inspired by and paired with Krug Grande Cuvée 167ème Édition, a beguiling blend of 191 wines from 13 different years, and Krug 2006.

For all those gathered, it was the perfect balance of fine wine, enticing food, top-class entertainment and wonderful company.
