The 1900 bottle of Chateau Latour will headline Christie’s “Finest and Rarest Wines and Spirits” taking place in London this month

Christie’s Wine Department has recently announced it will be presenting a collection of rare and vintage wine dating back more than a century as part of its “Finest and Rarest Wines and Spirits” auction taking place on December 11, 2020.

The auction will see bottles of Chateau Lafite-Rothschild 1900 which will be up for auction along with wines from Domaine Bouchard, as well as old vintages of Grange, a handful of rare vintages from Domaine Raveneau and finally vintage Champagne bottles from Krug and Bollinger.

“One collection, coming from a bonded warehouse, is the best of Bordeaux. The offering of First Growths, in particular Chateau Latour, is quite extraordinary with many vintages present, starting with 1900, covering the legendary 1945 and the famous 1982,” Christie’s said in a statement on its website.

The 120-year-old 1900 Chateau Latour bottle in particular is set to fetch upwards of US$16,032 due to its pristine condition, original wooden case, and capsule cut that reveals the Château and vintage branded cork.

According to the listing, the owner of the collection is one of the world’s greatest wine connoisseurs; having built the collection over many decades before offering select bottles for auction. “We are thrilled and honoured to be presenting a collection of such focused quality in our sale of Finest and Rarest Wines and Spirits,” the auction house added.

Christie’s “Finest and Rarest Wines and Spirits” auction is set to take place in London from December 10 to December 11. For more information or to register to bid on the fine collection of rare wine, be sure to visit the official Christie’s auction house website.
