Per Pernod Ricard’s invite, members of the media and Guardians of The Glenlivet were privy to a closed whisky tasting event at Altitude, Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur. Palpable excitement rippled through the crowd as Lionel Lau, brand ambassador of The Glenlivet Malaysia, broke the seal on The Glenlivet 18YO Single Cask Edition (Cask 8032).

What secrets did the whisky reveal, especially when sampled from 2 types of glasses? Complemented by vanilla accents from the cask, fruit-forward notes segued into floral and herbaceous qualities such as liquorice and lavender. Compared to the standard rock glass, the special neat glass allowed all ethanol and alcohol vapours to disperse, thus presenting the whisky in its purest form. Finger food existed by way of canapés and caviar, the latter harvested from Malaysia's own waters by caviar brand T'lur.

First dibs on The Glenlivet 18 YO Single Cask Edition go to The Guardians, but a finite number of bottles will be available to the public at the following locations starting from June 26th: Boozeat, Jaya Grocer, The Cask Malaysia, and Whisky Cove.
