Day 1: Samadhi Carnival At Tamarind Springs

In celebration of the Samadhi Group's 20th anniversary, the sixth annual Samadhi Carnival 2019 promises to go extra big. Sway to live music, sip on 50 different wines, and sup on more than 60 dishes. One is almost guaranteed to meet new faces and bump into old ones on this evening of pure hedonistic pleasures. Indochinese restaurant Tamarind Springs could not be a more beautiful choice of venue for the Malaysia Wine Fiesta's opening ceremony. Online tickets cost RM140; otherwise, simply have RM150 ready at the door.

One of the high points of Malaysia Wine Fiesta, this intimate party permits wine enthusiasts to rub shoulders with producers and representatives from France, Italy, Australia, New Zealand and beyond. Come famished to enjoy free-flow food and as much wine as you can drink for RM368. Secure your seats online to avoid disappointment on the day itself.

Day 3: Fiesta Day At REXKL

REXKL, an abandoned cinema turned arts centre, serves as the setting for Malaysia Wine Fiesta's finale. Head into Chinatown from 3pm onwards and have fun navigating REXKL's cavernous space, where different wine labels will have set up their respective stands. Ask for a pour of anything and everything that catches your fancy, and take home discounted bottles.

Eager to take your wine knowledge to the next level? Sign up for 1 of 3 masterclasses conducted by Alison Christ, wine manager of Troika Sky Dining. View the topics and time slots here.

Did that last glass of wine taint your driving lenses? Might as well stay and catch a movie then. Otherwise, release your creative juices on the canvas.

Film Screening & Discussion: Screening from 4.30-7.30pm, The Hundred-Foot Journey (2014) touches on topics such as immigration, Indian cuisine, French gastronomy, friendship, and first love. The tearjerker stars Helen Mirren and Manish Dayal as a cold-hearted restaurateur and an up-and-coming chef. Malaysia Wine Fiesta's first collaboration with Culture Without Borders is part of an ongoing series dubbed Culture360 Cinema Club. RSVP here.

Guided Painting Class: Allow Art & Bonding to lead the way in a painting workshop whereby all materials and canvases are provided. Simply show up, but don't forget to sign up as soon as you arrive, as only the first 20 guests are guaranteed spots.

Both of the above are free of charge for anyone attending the fiesta. Tickets are just RM120 nett online and RM150 nett at the door.

Popular among roisterers who know how to have a rollicking good time, Gin Jubilee 2019 is organised by the rockstars behind Wholly Spirits and East Imperial Superior Beverages. According to Wholly Spirits founding partner Shawn Samuel, this year’s jamboree is likely to attract some 3,000 revellers.

The week-long affair is book-ended by two main events: an opening party and a finale.

October 8: Opening Party At Wet Deck

Welcome to all to attend, the Gin Jubilee Opening Party is where one gets acquainted with this year's participating bars and bartenders. Any minute without a G&T in hand is a moment wasted: make sure to grab a cocktail concocted using East Imperial’s premium tonic waters and Drumshanbo Irish Gunpowder Gin.

October 12: Gin Lane Finale At Sentul Depot

The moment boozehounds have been waiting for (since the last Gin Lane), Gin Jubilee's finale sees a change of venue this year. Going from a garden party to a warehouse party, Gin Lane is moving from Plaza Batai to Sentul Depot, so as to accommodate more guests. Food trucks will provide finger food for famished drunks while G&Ts will go for a flat rate of RM25 per cocktail. Entrance to the event is completely FOC.

Vote For Your Favourite G&T:

Every year sees one cocktail being crowned The Best Gin & Tonic In KL. From October 1-12, every public Instagram post of any cocktail (taken at participating bars or during Gin Lane) counts as a vote. To be eligible, the post must include the hashtags #EastImperial, #GinJubilee2019 and the name of the bar where it was made. A panel of judges will have the last word.
