Cover Still young after two centuries: evian® marks its bicentenary across Asia-Pacific (Photo: evian®)

From Bangkok to Manila, evian® arrives at the region’s most refined tables to mark a bicentenary as vibrant and alive as the cities it graces

Two hundred years ago, a spring in the foothills of the French Alps began its quiet work. Snowmelt gathered above Évian-les-Bains, seeping through layers of glacial rock over the course of fifteen years, accumulating minerals with a patience that no industrial process could replicate. What emerged from that source was remarkable, not only for its exceptional purity, but for the journey it would eventually inspire. In 2026, evian® marks two centuries since it first began bottling that water, and the world’s most refined tables are raising a glass.

To honour the milestone, evian® has partnered with world-renowned American artist Jeff Koons to create two limited-edition glass bottles that render one of his most celebrated works, the Balloon Dog, as an act of pure celebration. Available in pink (still) and blue (sparkling), the bottles bring an irresistible artistry and playfulness to the finest dining tables, entirely befitting a brand that has long held its place at the intersection of culture and fine living. “Youth is not defined by age, but by a mindset,” Koons has noted of the collaboration, a sentiment that speaks directly to evian®’s enduring Live Young spirit.

The anniversary is further marked by the unveiling of the Live Young Collective, a striking portrait featuring Jeff Koons alongside evian®’s ambassador family, including tennis champions Carlos Alcaraz, Emma Raducanu, and Frances Tiafoe, as well as golfer Céline Boutier. Set against the snow-covered peaks of the French Alps, where evian®’s water begins its remarkable fifteen-year journey, the image reflects a brand long positioned at the intersection of sport, culture and the pursuit of living beautifully.

A celebration across Asia-Pacific

Across Asia-Pacific, the bicentenary unfolds through a premium year-round programme of fine dining, signature mixology and chef-led hospitality moments that translate the global anniversary into an experience at once intimate and exceptional.

In the Philippines, evian®’s 200 Years Young celebrations arrive at a defining moment for Manila’s dining scene, one that is becoming exciting, diverse and extraordinary as Michelin recognition cements a new era of fine dining ambition. The anniversary programme will be brought to life through an exclusive Evian Chefs Lunch, hosted at Asador Alfonso in Cavite, bringing together Chef Chele González alongside selected chefs, partners and mixologists. The experience will feature the Jeff Koons limited‑edition bottles throughout June 2026, celebrating Evian’s 200‑year milestone. The lunch will be led by Chef Chele, Evian Chef Ambassador, who was invited to Evian, France,  to experience the 200th anniversary celebration gathering the world’s most influential chefs and partners.

For two centuries, evian®'s water has followed the same unhurried path—fifteen years through Alpine glacial rock, drawing minerals from a 125km² ecosystem that the brand has actively protected for over thirty years. “Two centuries in,” says global director Dawid Borowiec, “still living young, still flowing forward.”

Chef spotlight: the ambassadors at the table

At the heart of evian®’s bicentenary celebrations in Asia-Pacific are two of the region’s most distinguished culinary voices, chefs whose philosophies reflect the same values of quality, authenticity and enduring craft that define evian® across two centuries.

Chef Chele Gonzalez

For chef Chele Gonzalez, participating in evian®’s bicentenary reflects a long-held belief in the importance of purity and origin. A visit to Évian-les-Bains deepened his appreciation for the water’s natural journey and character. “Every time I drink evian now, it tastes even better,” he reflects. “It made me appreciate the nature and purity of evian, and why it is a special mineral water.”

At Gallery by Chele in Manila, where his cuisine is rooted in Filipino terroir, water is an essential part of the dining experience. “What we are looking for is a water that gives more life to the food,” he explains. At his Michelin-starred Asador Alfonso, the same principle applies. “Having evian at the table makes me more comfortable because I know it is the right water for my dishes.”

For Gonzalez, the role of the chef extends beyond flavour. “Our responsibility is to provide meals that are not only full of flavour, but also good for the body,” he says, a philosophy that aligns naturally with evian®’s focus on purity.
