While a three-tiered stand of sweets and savouries anchors the afternoon tea experience in tradition, the beverage offerings take on a less orthodox stand.

Don’t bother waiting for happy hour to arrive. The newly launched cocktail afternoon tea at One-Ninety Bar by Javier de las Muelas gives you the perfect excuse to slip in a boozy cup or two. While the three-tiered stand of sweets and savouries anchors the afternoon tea experience in tradition, the beverage offerings take on a less orthodox stand. Yes, non-alcoholic fare is available too, but we’ll gladly revisit the Singapore Sangria — a signature tipple of the bar created by renowned Spanish mixologist Javier de las Muelas. Think Spanish wine given a tropical twist with lychee and mangosteen. If you’re not in the mood for sangria, you can choose from a trio of fruit-driven cocktails that are either non-alcoholic or tinged with a hint of booze.
