Last month, this riverside restaurant launched Sunday Vibes, a four-part series held every last Sunday of the month that allows guests to soak in its laid back ambience while listening to a live DJ performance and tucking into inspired Mediterranean fare and refreshing cocktails.

The next session is on August 25, and this time around, DJ Junior Turcios (a.k.a JR) will be providing the beats. Kebabs are still the highlight of the menu and options include grilled chicken kebab and the vegetarian-friendly fried falafel kebab.

In case you’re wondering, there are mezze and side dishes, too. And you’ll have much more than the classic selection to feast on, from hummus and kale tabbouleh, to substantial bites like wagyu beef burger stacked with melted cheese, capsicum and greens, and grilled barramundi with a side of seasonal salad.

The Dragon Chamber

Past the secret door hidden within a kopitiam on Circular Road is this gambling den-inspired restaurant serving a bevy of modern Asian fare, which has recently been given an update.

Served communal style are the likes of lobster pomelo salad with a sesame dressing, and The Dragon seafood hor fun elevated with the addition of succulent lobster and scallops, but which retains its luscious garlic and seafood gravy.

The Lobby Lounge, InterContinental Singapore

It’s been a great year for chef Ben Goh who has been promoted to executive pastry chef at InterContinental Singapore.

He’s celebrating his journey with a themed afternoon tea set, aptly dubbed Origins, available until October 31 from 2pm to 5pm, daily. Served on a three-tiered stand, the selection includes the first cake he baked with his grandma and the dessert he prepared at his first overseas competition.

Look forward to his Peach Melba cheesecake, served alongside a chocolate lemongrass pineapple cake and buttercream cake. For something savoury, there's a bacon-onion quiche and a mini cup of delicious mushroom cappuccino elevated with white truffle cream, among others. The set comes with a flute of champagne, and in case more sweets are required to satisfy, there is also all the ice cream you can have.

Dutch celebrity chef Richard van Oostenbrugge’s outpost in Singapore is now open for lunch on Saturdays, and it’s the best time to try out his new three-course summer menu.

Highlights of his modern European cuisine that's built around fresh local ingredients with French, Dutch and Japanese influences, include a dish featuring Toh Thye San duck served with mole madre, blueberry aigre-doux and sauce Rouennaise as a choice for the main course for the set menu. This follows a popular starter, the couscous of basmati rice with seasonal vegetables, which is a light salad of long grain basmati rice grown in the Himalayas, romanesco cauliflower, zucchini, fava beans, grated roasted pistachio and Pierre Robert cheese.  

Of course, there's more to have from the à la carte menu, including the main course of Dutch red mullet with artichoke Barigoule, jus à Bécasse and toast rôtie, which uses the whole fish.

Jam at Siri House

After the successful Late Breakfast Club Series, held once a month, comes a newly-introduced weekly Sunday Brunch selection at this swanky restaurant hidden within Dempsey Hill.

Executive chef Ming Tan has created an extensive à la carte menu of reimagined modern Asian fare. For instance, bakini is his take on the classic bikini sandwich, which comprises grilled honey glazed bak kwa sandwiched between layers of milk bread and cheeses. His new fried egg dish is a Thai style omelette dotted with roast pork and accompanied by a zesty jaew dressing of minced lemongrass, fish sauce and chilli.
