Bringing avant-garde drinking and dining to Boat Quay is Jidai, a new modern izakaya offering quality sake, bincho-grilled (charcoal grilled) yakitori and French-influenced modern grub.
 
Look forward to yakitori plates, including its chicken meatball, Iberico pork and baby eel—its plates are prepared à la minute over red hot coal and grill. Its menu also offers other à la carte dishes such as frog leg karaage, uni “taco”, and king crab squid udon. A signature to savour is its sea cucumber duck confit, featuring a fusion of east and west flavours—tiger sea cucumber coated in a thick and savoury stew, coupled with a 16-hour slow-cooked duck leg confit, seared for a classic French finish.

Diners are also able to opt for seafood, such as grilled Argentinian red prawn skewers, oyster, clams and mussels.
 
At the bar, gourmands can also find classic cocktails with signature twists, such as Kilo Negroni, featuring sweet Vermouth, Aperol and Fino Sherry; Passionfruit Mai Tai topped with passionfruit puree and lime; and Cuban Manhattan with Myer’s Dark Rum.

Begin with a lush pappa al pomodoro di mare, antipasti featuring a rich soup medley fresh white clams and blue mussels stewed in pescatora sauce, topped with melt-in-the-mouth Stracciatella cheese. Then, tuck into cervo, a rack of premium venison served in a savoury shallot sauce. Round of the night with torta co’ bischeri, an iconic Pisan dessert featuring velvety dark chocolate and risotto cake filled with raisins, pine nuts and candied fruit.
