Make the most out of your mealtime with our roundup of timely treats

Living through a pandemic is never easy, but there’s no better way to disconnect from monotonous, tedious days of laptop-sitting by immersing oneself in some good food and even better company. Whether kicking off a gruelling work week ahead or reminiscing the previous weekend’s shenanigans, mealtimes provide the best opportunities to unwind and connect with our loved ones (safely in twos or five for the vaccinated). From baked goods galore at Mr Holmes Bakehouse to sumptuous steaks at Bedrock Bar & Grill, here are the hottest dining destinations in Singapore this week.

1. Mr Holmes Bakehouse

Known for its stunning pastries, San Francisco-founded bakery Mr Holmes Bakehouse Singapore has just opened its flagship store in Singapore. Visit and gawk at the glass display counter, filled with an assortment of indulgent, cream-piped cruffins like peanut butter milkshake, tiramisu cream and lemon meringue pie croissants. Go with friends to fill up the table with the raspberry hibiscus croissant, a delightful pastry filled with hibiscus curd and raspberry cream or the divine cheesecake creme brûlée danish. Also on the menu are brioche doughnuts in three flavours: chocolate, strawberries and cream, as well as plum yuzu jam. Of course, their easy, hearty sandwiches like the pulled pork and the tomato pesto melt never fail to please either. Book here.
