Mandarin Oriental's banquet department pulled out all the stops to serve memorable canapés all night long

Studio 54, one of the world's most iconic nightclubs, set a precedent for future parties, including the launch of the all new Tatler Malaysia. Inspired by the glitz and glamour of the '90s, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Kuala Lumpur's culinary team concocted 15 classy canapés, from retro lobster aspic to bonbons containing a surprise element of popping candy.

After all, what’s a party without delicious bites?

(Especially to line the stomach while boozing.)

It takes a team to make the dream.

Executive chef Rene Ottlik, executive sous chef Arif Zihan and others successfully demonstrated the five-star hotel’s high level of catering with premium ingredients ranging from foie gras to Hokkaido scallops.

One of their biggest successes was coming up with a juicy meat-free slider that many guests mistook for real beef!
