We meet bar manager Rajendra “Rush” Limbu at The Langham’s award-winning bar to see him mix two signature drinks worth ordering

The glamorous Asian counterpart to the cocktail bar of the same name in London, Artesian has fast become one of our favourite hotel watering holes due to its plush, Art Deco interiors and host of clever cocktails crafted by the team. Leading the troops is Rajendra Limbu, better known as Rush, who has created an alluring drinks list that pays homage to the city’s rich Chinese heritage at the same time as keeping up with the latest trends in mixology. The varied cocktail menu makes use of the well-stocked bar, which boasts more than 50 types of bourbon and an impressive showing of artisan gins (30-plus).
When we meet one afternoon, Rush shows us the tricks behind two of his favourite cocktails – a White Bourbon Sour, which is a refreshing take on the classic whisky sour, and the Liquid Bouquet. The latter is, at first glance, a supremely feminine drink, all pretty with delicate glassware and dried flower garnishes; but try it for yourself and you’ll realise that this is a potent potion that is immensely well put together, with a commendable balance of aromas and distinct flavours.
See below for the ingredients you'll need for each cocktail.
