No longer a winter affair, the food market will roll out different themes over the course of 2021

Traditionally held between the months of November and February, Tong Chong Street Market will become a year-round weekday affair for the first time in 2021. Taikoo Place’s beloved outdoor food market has already planned an exciting line-up of themed 'festivals' to take it through the seasons, bringing a regular rotation of culinary talents to explore food trends in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Open from Monday to Friday, the market is kicking off its new schedule with the Tea Festival this March and April to celebrate the botanical bounty of spring. Featured in the line-up for March is vegan bubble tea shop Mother Pearl, who is bringing along their Yuen Yeung 2.0 and Jasmine Pearl drinks; as well as Matchali, who is offering health-conscious matcha-based drinks like yuzu lemonade matcha and pink coconut matcha.

Traditionalists will find solace in rare teas like Phoenix Dancong and Jin Xuan Oolong at The Tea Academics, as well as cold-brew teas by Tealosophy Tea Bar; while on the other end of the spectrum, Winston Coffee's Teapigs CBD-infused iced tea provides an adventurous, if not calming, tea-drinking experience to visitors. In April, the line-up will expand to include the likes of Doubleshot by Cupping Room, Green Ginkgo Tea and Basao.

The food hews closely to the market's tea-centric scope. Chicken Wings Mountain brings their Earl Grey chicken wings to the market, making for a perfect accompaniment to LockCha Tea House's pu'er English ale and jasmine green tea wheat beer. Similarly, Vietnamese home-style eatery Chez Ba's Saigon three-treasure rice can be washed down with a taro milk tea from Bon-licious Food Hall for a lip-smacking meal.

Following the close of the Tea Festival on 30 April, the Street Food Carnival will commence from May to July, followed by A Hot & Cold Summer Festival, the Asian Food Festival, and the Coffee Festival to last the rest of the year.

Tong Chong Street Market opens from Monday to Friday at 8:00 am–3:00 pm at G/F, One Taikoo Place, Quarry Bay. For more details, visit the Tong Chong Street Market's website.
